The European Parliament is one of the legislative bodies of the European Union. Composed of 705 MEPs, the parliament processes the proposals from the Commission.

The Commission is the executive body of the European Union. It is like the cabinet of the EU, with commissioners that each handle an area of legislation. The commission is the only body of the EU to have the legislative initiative.

The Council of Ministers

The Council of Ministers consists of cabinet ministers from all member states. They meet in groups of their respective areas. This is the second legislative body of the European Union.
